Absolutely. And added props for the public restroom observation/commentary!

I have been to different parts of Europe for a variety of reasons, and I have actually brought this up often. And I have ALWAYS been made fun of, shut down, dismissed--you name it!

I have also brought this up with Americans who have been, and who have not been, to Europe, and Americans obsession with Europe as the end-all, be-all is pretty fierce too . . .

But it has only been in conversation with Europeans that the reaction has been negative . . . and my point is always observational: these are critically important community pillars, and human rights at-play (disability access and FREE public restrooms). It's just shocking to not have it . . . In my viewpoint, they're not irrelevant and in equal standing to things like public transport ("which is much better in Europe" -- and so goes the conversation, and litany of reasons, Europe is superior . . . sigh . . . ).

Anyway, thank you for this--it was refresing and affirming!
